On 18 July 2026, Stockpoint Kenya Limited successfully conducted a one-day Entrepreneurship and Career Empowerment Workshop at Machakos Hospitality Training Institute under the International Labour Organization's Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Programme.

The workshop, themed "From Hustle to Enterprise: Transforming Ideas into Profitable Businesses," sought to equip students with practical entrepreneurial knowledge, business planning skills, financial literacy, and strategies for sustainable enterprise development.

The workshop was also attended by representatives from Family Bank and Absa Bank, whose participation underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in supporting business growth and workforce development. Discussions highlighted the need for increased investment in employee training, professional certification, and continuous skills development to enhance service quality and industry standards.

A total of 22 students participated in the workshop, comprising 12 female (55%) and 10 male (45%) participants. The workshop was facilitated by three professional facilitators from Stockpoint Kenya Limited, supported by one official photographer/videographer, while two staff members from MHTI coordinated institutional support throughout the event.

Students represented several academic programmes, with the School of Hospitality recording the highest participation, followed by Tourism, Social Work, Secretarial Studies, and other disciplines.

The workshop achieved its objectives by strengthening participants' entrepreneurial mindset, increasing awareness of funding opportunities, enhancing investor readiness, and encouraging sustainable business development.
